Rich in nutrients and with very versatile derivatives, corn is also an important tool for soil care when used in crop rotation as it improves the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of the soil.  It even helps to control weeds, diseases and pests and protects the soil from the action of climatic agents.  All this makes this plant of the grass family a very efficient crop with a high commercial value.

With a planted area of 14,000 hectares, the Scheffer Group produces and exports three types of corn to the large trading companies: Conventional, GM and Waxy. The latter has a high industrial performance due to its use in the production of special starches employed in the production of sauces and drinks. It has such high specificity that it cannot come into contact with any pollen from other species. This requires heightened technology, responsibility and dedication on the part of the farmer, all of which are inherent characteristics of the Group's professionals.
